About Jon Tarnoff
John Tarnoff, born in 1952, is a career coach focused on helping baby boomers and late-career professionals transition to new careers or businesses, defying ageism and extending their working years. With a 40-year career in the Los Angeles entertainment industry, he pivoted to career counseling after his tech startup collapsed during the dot-com bust. Tarnoff earned a master's in spiritual psychology and served as Head of Show Development at DreamWorks Animation, contributing to its recognition on Forbes' and Fortune's "100 Best Places to Work" lists. He later joined Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College as a professor and Head of Industry Relations. In 2012, he launched the Boomer Reinvention® career coaching program and authored "Boomer Reinvention: How to Create Your Dream Career after 50." Tarnoff holds a B.A. from Amherst College and an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, and he resides in Los Angeles.
